fashionably ever after

If life were a fairy tale, the closet would be brimming with Dior’s Fall 2010 Couture collection, breakfast eggs would be garnished exclusively with white truffle, and the apartment wouldn’t have a subzero draft.

But life isn’t a fairy tale. That is, unless your life is the subject of Camilla Morton‘s new book series: A Fashion Fairy Tale Memoir. Using fairy tales as the basis, Morton intertwines a classic story with that of a noted fashion designer, providing a glimpse into their life through an undoubtedly magical lens. With the designer also acting as the book’s illustrator, it truly becomes the fairy tale for fashion lovers everywhere.

The first in the series, Christian Lacroix and the Tale of Sleeping Beauty, was released earlier this month and features beautiful collage-inspired illustrations.

Morton spoke with NOWNESS about the series, and brought with her a few more previews of the illustrations which beautifully show off the whimsy and colour so often seen is the couturier’s work.

Up next will be John Galliano and the Tale of Cinderella and Manolo Blahnik and the Tale of the Elves and the Shoemaker; all three will be finding a top spot on this year’s Christmas list. If you can’t possible wait until then, Harper Collins will grant you your wish with a small preview and retailer links.
